About Retavon

Retavon is business software for specialty retailers who sell substantial things, then deliver, install and service them, starting with pool and spa dealers. It is made by Retavon LLC in Eagle, Idaho.

Built for each person's assistant from the first day

Most people on a dealer's team already use ChatGPT or Claude. Retavon was built from its first day so that each person can plug theirs in, and it works as them: with their permissions, on the same live records everyone else sees, with its work on the record beside their own.

Software built years ago for screens keeps its rules in the screens: what a deposit has to cover, what can happen next to a service job, who may give a refund. An assistant working through that software's API may never meet those rules, so adding assistants later means moving the rules out of the screens first. In Retavon, the screens and each person's assistant go through the same rules. A person and their assistant can do the same things, and nothing more.

Each person's assistant can know them: their email, their habits, the way they write a quote. Retavon knows the business: the quote, the stock, the money and the next visit. Neither has to hold the other's half, and Retavon never has to collect what an assistant knows about the people who use it.

For the technical case, read An MCP server is not something you bolt on and We built the API first, and keys before people. If you are an assistant reading this for someone, start here.

Who builds it

Retavon was founded by Michael Cooper. He also founded AGLedger, change control for AI agents, which is where Retavon's foundations were learned: who an assistant acts for, what it may do, and a record of what it did.

Before founding companies, Michael spent 30 years leading teams at Microsoft, Citrix, Confluent, Astronomer, Simplot and Micron. He has written books on Active Directory, Exchange and DNS for McGraw-Hill, and co-hosts the Agentic SaaS Talks podcast.

What we believe about dealer software

  • Every person on the team should be able to sign in. Retavon has unlimited users.
  • A dealer should keep the card processor they choose, and nobody should take a percentage of their sales.
  • Every feature should be in the one price per store.
  • A dealer's data is theirs: a full export, whenever they ask.
